Saturday Morning Craft and Cafe in the Village Hall

The Village Hall will soon be buzzing with creativity, conversation and the comforting smell of fresh coffee as we launch a new monthly Pop-Up Craft Session in support of HDCC (Hadlow Down Community Centre).

Held once a month, on Saturdays, these relaxed and friendly mornings are a wonderful opportunity for villagers and visitors alike to come together, learn something new and enjoy a little time with neighbours and friends. Keep an eye on the Village Calendar for upcoming dates.

On Saturday 11th April from 10am to 1pm, the Village Hall will open its doors for a morning of crafting, creativity and community spirit. Whether you’re an experienced maker or simply curious to try something new, everyone is welcome.

This month’s pop-up session features two lovely creative workshops:

  • A free calligraphy class with Jan Trimmer, perfect for learning the elegant art of beautiful lettering.
  • A paper piercing class with Adrienna Landa-Font, where you can discover how to create delicate designs and make your own beautiful handmade cards.

Both sessions are relaxed, welcoming and suitable for beginners, so don’t worry if you’ve never tried these crafts before.

And of course, crafting is even better with good food! The Village Hall kitchen will be open throughout the morning, serving:

  • Hot bacon rolls, tea and coffee for breakfast
  • Delicious homemade soup and a roll for lunch

So whether you’d like to learn a new craft, meet friends, support the Community Centre, or simply pop in for breakfast or lunch, we would love to see you there.

Come along, bring a friend, and enjoy a warm village morning together.
All are welcome – just drop in!

New monthly Pop in and Craft sessions in the Village Hall

We’re pleased to share that a new Craft Group has started in the Village Hall — a relaxed and friendly space where everyone is welcome.

The sessions are free to attend, and each month two crafts are demonstrated. If you would like to join in, packs of supplies are provided for you to use during the session or take home and finish later — perfect for beginners as well as experienced crafters.

This month we’ll be making Raggy Dolls and focusing on upcycling projects, giving old fabrics and materials a new life.

The café kitchen will be open from 10:00am, serving brunch, tea and coffee, homemade soup and a roll, hot dogs, and plenty of delicious cakes. Even if crafting isn’t your thing, it’s a lovely place to pop in for a late breakfast or lunch with friends.

All proceeds from the café go directly to support HDCC

Why not pop in this Saturday from 10:00am and see what it’s all about?
