If you have ever wondered how to set up a reliable camp in the woods or would love to feel genuinely ‘at home’ in the wilder places around us. If you’d like to feel more confident about what to put in that daypack or want to explore those fundamental outdoor skills that you feel you ‘really ought to know’, well then, this is the adventure for you. Join seasoned woodsman, Gazza Butcher, and delve into essential camp-craft skills around lighting fire, treating water, building shelter, providing food, equipment choice and use, and dealing with emergencies. Become even more awesome, dependable, and resilient than you already are!! Calendar & Events
Committee with the support of volunteers. It takes place at The Playing Field and is one of our annual fundraising events. Residents meet at the New Inn to collect torches and then form a procession to the Field. On arrival at the Playing Field all torch bearers are invited to circle the Bonfire prior to the traditional Bonfire Cry being recited, then, the torches are cast onto the fire. An organised fireworks display follows.
