How to be alerted to new planning applications near you

If you are on the internet, the parish council would urge you to sign up to the My Wealden Alerts at https://my.wealden.gov.uk/en. You would then be notified via the weekly Wealden update (at the bottom of the email) of any new planning applications in your area. In addition to this the parish council will try its upmost to inform residents of new application as they arrive via its website. However, this does by no means cover the many residents who are not on the internet, so we would please ask everyone to spread the word as new applications are submitted.

Hadlow Down Bonfire & Fireworks

Bonfire And Fireworks 2025

Weather permitting, the 2025 bonfire event is on Saturday 1st November. In addition to the massive bonfire, there will be the usual exciting firework display, licensed bar, BBQ, mulled wine, hot drinks, toffee apples and rocky road. Admission is FREE as usual but we EXPECT generous donations by cash in the collecting buckets or by contactless (QR code) before you leave. Free admission means your contributions are eligible for “Gift Aid” meaning we can reclaim 25% from the HMRC on top of your donations.

  • 19:00 Gates open for public entry to the Playing Field.
  • 19:30 Torchlit procession departs the New Inn and proceeds down Hut Lane then along the footpath to Waghorns Lane and then to School Lane.

Panto Read Through

The Hadlow Down Drama & Variety Club are delighted to announce that the HDDVC will be performing a pantomime on the 13th and 14th March, 2026.
Julie Twigg will be directing the panto we have selected, which is Dick Turpin. We felt this panto would be a bit different, and is not one that we have performed before.
On the 3rd December at 7.00pm, in the Village Hall, we will be holding a ‘read through’ evening; an opportunity, for those interested in joining the cast, to get a flavour of the panto prior to casting.
We always welcome new members and hope that you will feel you can join the cast, help backstage or support front of house.
