Hadlow Down Variety Club

Hadlow Down Variety Club was founded in 1982 and since then has performed annual Variety shows, highly popular pantomimes and Murder Mysteries Dinner evenings. We also run some drama, mime and improvisation workshops too. We’ll also get together for social events – barbecues and dinners. We have over 40 lively and charismatic members ranging in age from 8 to 79 and are always looking for new members to join us, whether it is to act, sing, dance, sew costumes, stage-manage, work on lighting and sound, paint scenery, design posters and programmes, cook for our Murder Mystery Dinner evenings, make tea………. In fact there’s something for everyone and plenty of fun too! Do come and join us!

Sing for your Supper

Friday 22nd June at the Village Hall from 7.30pm

The Variety Club would like to invite members and interested friends to join us for a fun filled sing-along with live music.

We will be joined by pianist Dom Hartley.  Favourite songs and popular numbers over the decades are on the menu together with Carol’s legendary chilli. (Vegetarian option will be available on request.) Bring a bottle with you or soft drinks will be available at the hall.

Singing ability is a bonus but not required! Just come along for the fun. Book with Glenys by Wednesday 13th June – 01825 830857 glenys.lake@btopenworld.com

Entry is free to all, but donations to the cost of the food would be most welcome at the event.

The Ghost Train Postponed

It is with great regret that Hadlow Down Variety Club, following in the best tradition of British Rail, must announce that the Ghost Train scheduled to run on 4th. & 5th May has had to be postponed.  One of our lead actors has suddenly fallen ill and will need a long period of recovery and we all wish him well.   Being so close to the performance date finding someone to take the part on is not an option but the director and cast having already put so much work into what will be a great local theatrical production are determined that the show is not cancelled but just postponed.   The new dates are November the 23rd. & 24th.   The good news is that there may be more seats available!  Watch this space!!
