Cheap calls with 18185

It used to be that 18866 was the cheapest discount telephone call provider but there's a new kid on the block.. and he's even cheaper. 18185 is now the best value discount call provider
For the last couple of years I have been using 18866 to get unlimited length UK landline calls for a fixed price plus cheap international calls.
Originally it cost 1p to make a UK landline call
of any duration
, far cheaper than using the equivalent BT options. The only slight hassle is having to dial 18866 before every call but after a while it becomes second nature. It was 2p a minute to talk to people in the USA, Australia, France etc
Soon after I joined the connection charge went up to 2p and over the last year or so it has gone up quietly to 5p.
Anyway I decided enough is enough and I went looking for a cheaper alternative. I found the answers on
www.moneysavingexpert.com
. They now recommend using
18185
instead. Connection charge is 5p and all UK landline calls are free. So no real saving there. However, UK mobiles are much cheaper. 5p/min weekdays and 2p/min at the weekend. This is
significantly
cheaper than BT standard rates. Their international calls are also a lot cheaper. France and the USA for example are both 0.5p/min
Strangely enough it looks like 18866, 18185 and another may actually be owned by the same non-UK company... Hmmm very odd
