What is Hadlow Down Online
Editors Notes By eddie on 8/11/2011 8:39 AM

Just been wondering what village people want from Hadlow Down Online.  Attempts to involve residents in discussion, debates etc. have recently generated no interest at all, yet people still moan about not having an opportunity to 'have a say' when decisions that they disapprove of are made on their behalf by others???
The web site is currently being used as little more than a notice board.  We already have three noticeboards in the village - one outside the village hall, one in Main Road and the Parish Magazine.  Do we really need Hadlow Down Online as a fourth?

Site Use Update
The Neighbours of Tinkers Park By VillageEye on 1/23/2011 10:25 AM
We have recently been informed by the web site editor that the new site rules will mean that village politics and disagreements should not be aired in the BLOG feature. The Neighbours of Tinkers Park value the web site's discretion and are happy to comply with the new rules.

PC's Misdirected Criticism
The Neighbours of Tinkers Park By VillageEye on 11/4/2010 8:02 PM
Our usual writer of blog entries is on holiday but the increasing bewildering animosity that our Parish Council shows toward those living next to Tinkers Park and, presumably because the neighbours use the blog facility, the village web site, should not go unmentioned.

Winterfest
Editors Notes By eddie on 10/17/2010 12:51 PM
Unfortunately I couldn't make it to the Winterfest celebrations on Saturday evening due to being stuck in traffic on the M23 on the way back from Oxford because of an overturned horsebox. So if anyone out there would like to write a few lines as a review of the evening's events the web site team and the event organisers would be most appreciative.

Removal of Post
Editors Notes By eddie on 10/14/2010 2:44 PM
With the agreement of the authors Village Eye the editor has removed an entry posted by them on the Neighbours of Tinkers Park blog on 12/10. Although the blog was acceptable according to the website policy of allowing villagers to express their views and opinions freely and openly and contained nothing that would normally warrant automatic removal by the editor, a complaint was received from a member of the Parish Council who took the criticisms of the Parish Council as being of him personally and was upset by the post.

More Agravation
The Neighbours of Tinkers Park By VillageEye on 9/20/2010 12:58 PM
After a relatively quiet period, apart from the late night shenanigans of those decrepit old machines returning from the Laughton Steam party a few weeks ago, we are suddenly back to the day long screaching, rattling and thumping of misaligned tracks and wheels of those old lumps of iron and steel still being constantly coaxed from one end of a field to the other and back - what is the point???

Planning permission & ASB
The Neighbours of Tinkers Park By VillageEye on 7/27/2010 9:00 AM
Although residents have only had to complain three or four times over the past few weeks about the noise pollution from Tinkers Park we are coming up to another 'stay in and keep your windows and doors closed tight or get out of the village' weekend.

A Decent Kettle!
Grumpy Old Gastronome By Charlie on 7/13/2010 2:57 PM

I am sure everyone will be glad to know?!?  That at last, after 9 months, I have found a decent kettle!  Its design and styling is excellent, the lid hinges don't look as if they're going to snap off in the first few weeks of use, it's quick boilng, you dont graze your knuckles on a top handle as you do on those stupid non-hinge lidded affairs.  It's just great!!  It's a Hitachi KET2E and I believe the RRP is around £60 but I managed to get it in Currys, Uckfield, closing down sale for £21!  So not so grumpy today but 'boiling over' with happiness.
Thanks for those few comments on my troubles with the old Russel Hobbs one.

Market Place
Editors Notes By eddie on 7/11/2010 11:28 AM
I was hoping to launch the new Market Place feature this weekend but due to technical difficulties (Computer on fire!) we're going to have to put it back a week. Still lookingfor things to put on it though! Surely there must be a lot more people out there who want to advertise things for free. If you're worried about how to do it call me on 01825 830661.

Too good to believe!!!
The Neighbours of Tinkers Park By VillageEye on 7/10/2010 3:35 PM
It's half past three on Saturday and NO noise from Tinkers Park all day! In fact the lack of noise from Tinkers Park has, for the first time, enabled us to hear what other villagers have been complaining about for ages - the sound of motorcycles speeding along the A272 - or Main Road - or Ridgeway - or Whatever! We really can't believe this can be permanent!

Is it another quiet weekend?
The Neighbours of Tinkers Park By VillageEye on 7/10/2010 8:14 AM

Last weekend was so peaceful.  Not really a peep (or even a toot)!?! from over the road.  Can we expect to be able to enjoy our gardens again this weekend?  We thought last weekend's quietness may have been due to Tinkers Park getting a letter or visit from Wealden's 'Public Nuisance' or 'Anti Social Behaviour' officer, But of course we can't be sure of that.  Fingers crossed then for this weekend.
During the week there were just a couple of annoying incidents after permitted hours; a really sick sounding train going round and round for about 15 minutes and someone banging posts in the layby outside the gates, presumably to carry some sort of adverts, that may or may not be legal.  But these were considered too trvial to complain to the authorities about.  Perhaps our Parish Council should follow up the legality question of the advertisements in the layby?

Backing Up
Editors Notes By eddie on 7/8/2010 3:22 PM
I am sure everyone out there is much more organised and careful than I am but for those who don't back up on to alternative media everything that's important please believe me it is a nightmare if your machine just decides to burn out!
